The books chosen are all about diversity. Diversity is something that has not been talked about much where I live in the past couple of years. I want my students to be culturally and ethnically aware of other people around the world. By exposing my students to diversity through literature they have the opportunity to grow in a society that is accepting, knowledgeable, and kind. I want to teach my students the importance of being aware of other races and cultures; most importantly, respecting one another above all differences.
