We are studying different genres in our Second Grade Classroom. We are learning about non-fiction text and studying the author's structure when writing the book (descriptive, sequential, compare/contrast, problem/solution, and cause/effect). Steve Jenkins does a wonderful job incorporating many different types of these structures in his books. I want to add these amazing books to my classroom to show my students the different ways non-fiction stories can be put together. My students love to be read to, and I know they would absolutely love these wonderful books!
