This book will help my students with literacy --reading, discussion, and written reflection -- and the strategies help us make better social-emotional connections with peers, family, friends, and teachers! I have used this text to good effect with my 11th and 12th graders and, especially as we continue to weather the pandemic, I'm hoping to provide each student with their own copy! I've seen how the strategies are eye-opening and stress-reducing for my students. In addition, by asking them to write about each strategy and how they can implement it, students are exercising literacy skills in a low-threshold way.
