Our class has access to very limited technology. My students need to rotate and share four laptops to use for the required Reading and Math Programs each day. They are rarely available for students to use to take AR tests for the books they are so eagerly consuming. I have one iPad to use for AR but that means students have to wait for six or more students to test ahead of them. They are very frustrated because they want to take their test and start a new book. My voracious readers are begging for more iPads so they can test and move on. The iPads we are hoping for would greatly alleviate the testing jam we are experiencing and would prevent the let-down of having to wait. I want them to stay motivated and eager. The added technology would also allow time for my children to have more practice logging themselves in. That is an important Kindergarten skill. Currently, I have to do it to save time so all students can test the day they are ready. This contribution to my Reading Program would also allow my students to access digital books on reading platforms such as Raz Kids and Learning A-Z Science. It will open up so many possibilities.
