Because of the pandemic, teaching and learning has not been the same. There have been sacrifices in student learning especially in subjects like science on the Pre-K level. As my students return to the classroom, I want to maximize their time left in the classroom with some science experiences. Unfortunately, we do not have many science materials in our classroom. I would like to add a science center where students can experience their first microscope. Also, I want to teach them about light reflection by making kaleidoscopes and teach them about plant growth through color experimentation with celery and/or flowers. These are fun ways to teach young children about science in ways that interest them. Science is all around us, so I want my students to walk out this school year full of curiosity about the world around them. Remote learning has been tough on them because they have not been able to do fun, educational activities from home. Help us wrap-up the school year on a more positive note with science exploration that has been missing this school year.
