Reading books aloud to children stimulates their imagination and expands their understanding of the world. Reading helps develop empathy as the students experience the lives of other characters and can identify how they are feeling. It helps them develop listening skills and language. Expanding my classroom library help install the love of reading and highly influence student to be life long readers. A book can take my students anywhere: to another city, different country, or even to a fiction world. A child learns about people, places and events. Having choices of books will benefit all my students with all their different interests.
