This year we have implemented a class called "Reading Extension" which will focus on supporting students' reading levels in various ways. One way is by reading a book together and completing various activities along the way that focus on their skills that need development. "Patina" is a book that my students can relate to in several ways. We started the year by reading "Ghost" by Jason Reynolds. My students enjoyed reading this book so much that they asked if he has written other books: he has! So, we are hoping to read his second book in the series.
