Middle school can be a difficult few years for many students. They are trying to find their place in school and in the world. In my classroom, I want every student to feel welcomed and feel like they belong. My students are passionate readers. They are always begging to read just one more chapter and clap as we finish our class novels. Next year, I would like to start a book club to help curate a love for reading and reading for pleasure. This club would not only help build a love of reading but it would provide a warm and safe place for students to come together and feel a sense of community.
