Learning about ecosystems isn't something we can only do if we are in the school building together. Even though we’re learning online this year, our fifth graders can experience hands-on learning by dissecting sanitized owl pellets in the comfort of their own homes! While learning about owls and how they digest their prey, students will get the chance to learn about small rodent anatomy at home. I would love for these students to get some hands-on dissection experience using guides to small skeletons, identifying the rodent the owl consumed, and reconstructing the skeletons. It is my hope that because the students are online at home, the students' family can be a part of this fascinating science experience as well!

About my class
