Perrin Learning Center functions as a life line for students that have had the obstacles of life interfere with their education. As such, many of my students don't see how reading can enrich their lives. I believe that is simply because they haven't found the right books yet. Due to this, I want to have many different types of books in my library so that every student has the chance to connect with an author or genre. Every student can develop a life long love of reading if they have access to books that interest them while they are young. It is because of this belief that I try and add new books to my library on a regular basis. Just this year I have added several graphic novels to reach some of my students that talked about their love of comics. This sparked them and they have become much better students in my class. Every teacher has responsibility to try and reach their students in many different ways. I believe books are the best way for me to reach my students.
