These books are going to be a key component to the students' learning for the final marking period of this year. Students will be reading, writing, and discussing this book for the duration of the fourth quarter. This text reflects on the city of Milwaukee, its diverse history, and the trajectory that the housing epidemic of evictions has set the city on. While students read the book, we will discuss racism, poverty, privilege, and other important aspects that are relevant to our text. Finally, students will develop their own plan for addressing this complex issue, while working with professional Milwaukee housing organizations and activists and pitch those ideas to the class and community as a whole.
