These resources will be used during small groups to encourage my students to read more and build the bridge between basic phonics and decoding grade level words to begin reading fluently. With the current pandemic, the students currently in my classroom have sufficient foundational reading gaps that relate back to their phonics skills. These books will help close the gap in their knowledge of phonics by affording students the opportunity to apply their phonics knowledge while reading a story. These books will give the repetition the students need to successfully master each phonics skill.
