By implementing the Secret Stories method my students will progress more in their reading and writing. Students will able to remember the sound chunks and be more engaged and excited about learning. Secret Stories is a brain based, multisensory phonic approach that answers the why letters go together and make that sound. Secret Stories connects to the social and emotional centers of the brain. Students are able to see the picture and see the sound pattern. Students are able to say the story and recall the sound the letters make together. Student can do the actions to engage their muscle memory. The Porta Pics will be used during guided reading and writing. The phonics posters will be hung up for students to reference in the classroom. The flashcards will be used during small group instruction.
