One of the best ways students learn about science is by doing it! When they are digging in dirt and finding bugs and worms, you can bet the questions are going to start! Why does this worm ball up when I pick it up? How do these bugs get down there? So many questions or opportunities to explore and learn! Gardening is such a win-win project for fourth-grade students. They get to have fun playing in the dirt, learning about life cycles and ecosystems, and beautifying their school all at the same time. I would love to offer a Spring Gardening Opportunity for my students once they are able to return to class in person. They have been separated from their peers for so long that they are going to have to rebuild bonds that were broken last year. What a fun and educational way to do this!
