For little kids growing up in this era learning to safely use technology and have access to sensory toys that will help them learn to focus their attention are fundamental in their development.
Preschooler children can use technology to create and explore new worlds, play make-believe, and engage in fun learning activities that challenge them in new ways. Children need to learn how to use technology though to be able to achieve these uses. Like before they go out into the real world, we help teach our kids about issues of safety, manners, and overall conduct. Why should this be any different with technology?
These tablets will be used to allow the children to look up information on their own, access audiobooks, and interact in learning activities both solo and in a small group.
When children can’t focus on the topic at hand, some believe they are not paying attention. Unfortunately in most cases, the child has not learned how to handle all the sensory happenings around them and within their bodies.
Sensory toys and seats will help children who need to move focus better when they need to, without making the child feel isolated or separated from the group. Children will be able to use all these devices in group settings as well as during our Explorer’s Time.
