I hope to use the teacher pay teacher gift card to purchase social stories and other social emotional tools to implement in the classroom. "Social stories are individualized short stories that depict a social situation that your child affected by autism may encounter. These social stories are used to teach communal skills through the use of precise and sequential information about everyday events that your child may find difficult or confusing, thus preventing further anxiety on the part of your child."- Special Learning Inc. Having access to these resources will give my students the opportunity to learn and apply specific social skills they might need in the classroom. They will also be provided different books and tools that will help them self-regulate their emotions.
