These books will be used by students through monthly, in-class book clubs in a new course called Contemporary Global Literature. Students will interact with those reading the same text as them as well as those who choose something different. Students who take this course will learn about other people's perspectives, their own assumptions, and the world around them. The selections picked for this project will also be analyzed by juniors and seniors who will answer the following questions over the course of a semester: What does it mean to be an insider or an outsider? What is a good life/how should people live? What does it mean to "grow up"? What is the individual's responsibility to the community?
