Now that I teach English classes, I want to ensure that my students receive exposure to all different genres, cultures, and people through literature. By using the time to read and sample books on "Ten Minute Monday" and hooking them into new books with "First Chapter Friday," I will allow them to hear books that they may not normally pick up themselves. A big part of our classroom is "choice." I will use these books to gauge their interest and let them propose which one they would like to use for our next novel study.
