We have a 45 minute remediation time, called Boltdog Block, built into our school day this year to help make up for COVID learning loss. Right now, the curriculum available from the district is not engaging, and we are having a hard time getting students to do it. These materials would provide a high-interest alternative that students would learn more from. The Scholastic Scope magazines come monthly to the school and have relatable, engaging readings with standards-based questions written by experts. The Scholastic Math will make math come to life with real-world examples. I've used these in past years, and students LOVE them. The materials are also easy to implement for teachers and can be used digitally (in case students have to quarantine) or in person.
