These fine motor toys and puzzles will provide my special education students with the tools they need to increase independence while working in the classroom. I plan to teach my students how to use these materials in the beginning of the school year, and then slowly remove my help until they can finish them on their own. They will use the fine motor toys to focus on learning colors, shapes, numbers, letters, and picture to picture matching. These materials will increase motivation in learning, build independence, develop fine motor strength, and help my students reach other milestones in learning. My students will learn to attend to work when using these materials. They will learn to scan through choices and increase their pincer grasp which helps them with other learning areas in the classroom.
