I am a new occupational therapist working in a NYC school where turnover of OTs is common. Therefore, the school lacks a lot of basic materials, tools, and games to help my students improve in many of their school-based skills. For example, the play mat and bean bag can help with increasing core strength, the wobble chair, disc, and bands can improve focus in the classroom, and the pencil grips can improve writing formation and legibility. With all these great materials and tools, I can help my students learn, strengthen, and grow in many areas to become the best student they can be! They can address their handwriting skills, scissor cutting, managing clothing fasteners, and opening food packages. My students will love to interact, play, and have fun using all these supplies in OT sessions.
