Morning meetings are a daily activity in my bilingual classroom. When students first come into the classroom in the morning we all gather in a circle and talk about what's going on in school and what's going on in their lives, in general. I imagine the rug and comfy chair will add to the environment I'm trying to create in order to make my middle schoolers feel comfortable. For our academic classes, I want to have tools such as the magnetic graph paper and supplies such as the hangers, bulletin board clips and bulletin boards to help display their work. My hope is that my students feel proud of themselves and confident about where they are! I will have a diffuser and air purifying plants displayed as well as lighting to help calm and focus the students. I imagine my classroom to be a place where students feel loved and cared for, while getting the tools they need to be successful in our community!
