The use of whiteboards, magnetic letters, and composition notebooks is almost a daily activity in our classroom. My students are learning from home due to the pandemic, and to increase engagement, whiteboards and magnetic letters are needed. We will decode and make words with the letters to increase my students' Phonics skills. Students must have materials to put their hands on and manipulate when learning, especially when they're sitting in front of a screen all day. Many of my Title I students don't even have paper to write with. We will use composition notebooks for Phonics, Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies. There is writing in every subject and many students have been missing out. These composition notebooks are necessary to help with their progress. I have hope that these materials will enhance my students' learning and engagement.
