The products I have selected will help my students by giving them resources to make effective choices. When students are over stimulated, tired or otherwise frustrated in the classroom it is incredibly difficult for them to learn. Giving them fidget toys and weighted lap pads provide instant de-escalation. Mindfulness books, activity cards and journal prompts allow students to process what they are feeling in order to move on or prevent a repeat event. The comfortable pillows and rug will make this spot inviting and warm. Since all of these items will be in one location my classroom, it will be easy for them to refocus and then continue their learning independently.
