These books will be used in book clubs and for individual reading time. Many of these titles have been asked for specifically by my students. With engaging books, it is much easier to teach needed skills like theme, character development, and plot. Through these novels, students will improve their reading ability, critical thinking skills and, perhaps most importantly, empathy. With your help, we can get these students interested in books that speak to them and the world they live in. Our bookshelves will be renewed and we will be able to replace the old, worn-out and out-of-date books that we have.
