Sports Writing and Literature is a course that examines the unique relationship between sports and society through literature. Readings in the course were selected to be high-interest, thought-provoking, and cross-curricular. There are so many great life lessons that can be taught through sports: integrity, leadership, persistence, teamwork, accountability, resilience, discipline, adversity, and so much more! I feel very fortunate to bring together two of my passions, reading, and sports, into my classroom for my students to enjoy, learn, and reflect! What better way to connect with students and promote literature than through a shared passion like sports!
