The Eagle matrix we developed meets our SEL district mandates. SEL, Social Emotional Learning plays a key role in learning because we aren't just machines. Students must be able to see the connection between academics and people skills, or soft skills. By rewarding students for Excellence, Accountability, Grit, Leadership, Engaged, and Service (our Eagle matrix) we encourage them to be their best selves whether in the classroom, hallway, or athletic events. Teachers give students Eagle bucks for going over and above and demonstrating one of the character traits in our Eagle matrix.
