My students have yet to do a novel study in 4th grade, however their desire to gain more knowledge and prove it in creative ways is inspiring! The book I chose for this project left a mark on my learning and I hope it does the same for my students. My plan is to do activities that not only support their understanding of the story but also to hands on create projects that prove their understanding. The City of Ember is a phenomenal story that has real life applications and I have an awesome feeling of how this project will go! My hope is to do a novel study together as a class first, then explore many more books in small groups after!
