I am a second year teacher and am building up my resources. I switched careers mid life as I finally found my passion! Working in the specialized classroom is the most fulfilling career I have ever had. My students all have unique abilities and need specialized curriculum in order to maximize their learning. I am so excited to offer them new opportunities to learn in a different and more exciting manner. The items I requested will give me an opportunity to better diversify their education from day to day. In my classes students learn about preparing for a job, ways to improve their health and how to better communicate with others. I teach Career Prep, Speech, and Health. I am always looking for new resources that other teacher share on Teachers Pay Teachers. Digital resources would be so incredible from day to day in meeting the needs of my students through the curriculum. I have students that I work with whom would benefit from the large alphabet items. The hands on and tactile alphabet letter items would be a game changer in my classroom. Including the liquid letters, alphabet sensory tub, fabric lowercase letters, alphabet groceries, and alphabet bean bags. Many of the learning resources I requested would also be safe for our students who put items in their mouth frequently. I also ordered the Osmo Little Genius Starter Kit. I think this would be so awesome with offering another modality in teaching my students the skills we are working on. I find that the more learning activities I provide the more engaged my students are with learning. I am excited for the new sensory toys as these are critical for some of my students. My students deserve all the opportunities in the world!
