The materials provided will allow students to have a safe space in school where they can get their sensory needs met. Having a space where students can decompress and feel at "home" while at school is vital for students to be successful across their content classes. The flexible seating options will give students options to meet their movement needs in order to better focus and concentrate during classes. In addition, the lighting options will allow our classroom to have a space away from the bright fluorescent lights to focus and find a sense of calm. Creating this environment where students can come and feel safe isMy classroom if often used as a place to calm down, decompress from the stress of academic and social stresses. The resources I am requesting will allow the students to have the best environment to accomplish this!
