We have adopted a reading intervention program called Burst. Burst is a literacy program that targets specific skills students are struggling with which prevent them from being able to read and comprehend. The program has had proven results when it comes to increasing literacy. We believe that intervening in the early grades will help close the gaps in reading once kids get to testing grades of 3rd grade and beyond. With this program, there is an additional app that provides fun and engaging learning experiences but the app can only be used on an Apple iPad. Because the iPads are not compatible with many devices, it is important to have the laptop so that information can be synced with the iPads . It will also provide for more engaging lessons during regular instruction where different literacy resources can be incorporated. This resource will allow scholars additional practice activities that will help them improve their overall ability to read and comprehend. Because interventions are conducted in small groups, at least 4 scholars at a time will be able to engage and explore literacy through technology. This technology will help us see huge gains in reading if implemented appropriately.
