Hello! My name is Mrs. T. and I am the 5th Grade Language Arts & SS teacher at my school. Even though I have been a Special Education teacher for a 6 years, I finally have my own classroom. I inherited many books but a lot of the books are very old, outdated, and lack diversity. I am hoping to peak students interest in the Book Nook (our small library area) so the students foster a love for reading. The Book Nook will serve different areas for the students to sit and read independently either during free choice time or when they finish their work. Reading has always been my biggest passion and I am hoping to instill this into my students this year and future years. I am hoping that books with main characters that look, feel, and have the same challenges will help them want to read more. Thanks so much!
