Aside from hands on experiences in the classroom, nothing engages my students quite like a class read aloud. My very best lessons are taught on the heels of a read aloud. No matter the story, my kids find a way to place themselves in the story or find a way to apply the story to their lives. Picture books are wonderful for teaching kids to be the best kids of humans they can be! They'll also use the games to apply the social skills they have learned from the picture book stories.
