The students I work with learn best when they're presented with hands-on materials that they can use independently. Having multiple methods of exploring a math concept helps to ensure that no student is left behind. These manipulatives will help students to understand concepts that are being taught within the mainstream classroom. Our space is limited so having a place to store things is vital as well. This will allow us to best serve our students by keeping these items accessible when needed. Students are able to grasp concepts better when the activities are suited to their own interests and capabilities. This will help to instill an enjoyment of math and cause less frustration.
