As a middle school teacher and school counselor, I am always striving to build a more inclusive and welcoming environment for my students while they explore their identities. These books, focused on the LGBTQ+ experience, will enhance the environment that I am attempting to cultivate in my classroom. Many of my students have expressed interest in learning more about the LGBTQ+ experience and community, so these books will be a popular addition to my classroom. I am excited to give my 6th-, 7th-, and 8th-grade students the opportunity to further explore diversity through literature!
