Students who have ADHD, autism, Down syndrome, and other challenges can find it very difficult to sit in a stationary chair and concentrate. Often these students will be balancing on two legs of a normal chair, laying across desks, or moving around the classroom which can create a distraction for them. Sometimes, the postures the students take to move around can be considered dangerous. The chairs allow the students to move around without leaving their assigned seats, which decreases the distraction to the classroom while increasing the target students' focus. Because the chairs allow the students the freedom to move, they are safer while they learn. The chairs will be assigned according to student needs. If a person is not one of these students or have not worked with these students, it might be hard to comprehend the difference these seats can make, but it does have a positive impact on student learning.
