Flexible seating has so many benefits, especially with little people in Kindergarten! It allows for students to stay calm, and stay engaged while learning. It can make working and learning together in pairs and groups during lessons in the classroom be fast and easy. Young students need to be constantly moving their bodies to help them stay focused, and with our constant TPR movements in our lessons including flexible seating into our classroom would make that much more of a difference in my students' learning. These materials would be used by students in my classroom during lessons, small group instruction, and intervention groups. Students would be able to write, read, and learn in their seat of choice anywhere in the room. Students' engagement will improve during lessons and independence or group work as they are able to keep their bodies moving and stay focused while they work. This opportunity would allow for a different and beneficial chance for my students to experience all the benefits flexible seating has to offer.
