Having hands-on learning is so important. Students cannot learn from sitting and passively listening. They need to be using all five senses as they explore and learn. That is why I am asking for STEAM (Science Technology Engineering, Art, Math), activities for our kids. The STEAM activities being requested for this project will encourage students to use a variety of skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, curiosity, decision making, leadership and so much more. The SuperScience STEM Instant Activities provides hands-on investigations with video cards and texts. The topics, including animal families, volcanoes, plant lifecycle, shadows, and more, will appeal to the kids. I do not know any kid (or adult), that does not like playing with marbles. I believe the Marble Genius Run Set will be one of the most popular activities. They can create their own marble run and compete with their classmates. The KNEX 70 Model Building Set allows students to easily create endless shapes, figures, and models. The snap fit pieces can be reassembled for unlimited creations. Best of all, they are real moving parts so the kids can make interactive toys. They can make rolling cars, working amusement park rides, and more. The kids will go crazy! This will be learning at its best as the kids engage in social skills such as collaborating, communicating, and sometimes working in teams. The kids can leave the outdated and overused textbooks on the shelves and dig into the world of hands-on learning with STEAM activities.
