My students lack many things in their lives, including exposure to experiences many people have in middle and high school. Many of my students come to my science class having never done a lab experiment, critical thinking exercise, or science fair project. Despite the setbacks they experience, my students still have curiosity and perseverance that drive them forward. They set goals for themselves and work hard to achieve them. My kids have more heart and believe in themselves more than anyone I have ever met.
