The materials and supplies we're asking for will aide in taking care of our first class pet. We need your help in getting everything to our classroom! The large cage will be placed in the front of the classroom and used to keep our guinea pig comfortable and happy. Our classroom is a home to our students and the cage will be the home for guinea pig. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement and their social emotional learning. The chew toys and treats will be used as an incentive to get students more involved in class assignments. The exercise ball serves as a great way for the guinea pig to interact and engage the students throughout class. Students will incorporate skills of accountability and maturity because of the continuous task of changing the guinea pig's bedding and hay. Cleaning materials will be used by the students so that they may learn responsibility and how to care for others. This will give a positive outlet for students struggling with stress and anxiety, especially with today's current climate. In such a technology literate world, any interaction with the guinea pig will increase students' social emotional skills as well as their desire to learn.
