Our student population voted on a single art medium to focus on this fall and their top favorite was acrylic painting. This will be a semester long course where students will experience many techniques and apply them to landscapes, portraits, abstracts, still life’s, and lastly close up stills. I have selected quality mediums that will allow students to be successful with various techniques while providing long lasting vibrancy. Students will learn self expression as well as provides a conduit for emotional release through painting. Many of my students come from a rough background and must learn tools to express their emotions allowing them to grow and process through the difficulties life has thrown at them.
