Students need to see that their voices have power. Often, school assignments can feel like a vacuum. They are assigned, come to the teacher to grade, and that's where the train stops. Using "Between the World and Me" as a guide, my students will learn to find the power in their own voice and use it to advocate for real change in their own communities. After finding the power in their voice, students will put that power into action in the community and see the changes they can make firsthand.

About my class
