Using headphones is something that happens on the daily in my Language Arts classroom. Every day my students use a variety of research based programs that allow them to gain individualized ELA skills in addition to computer skills like coding and programming. The headphones allow the students to focus solely on their computers, while simultaneously benefitting from this individualized instruction that allows them to grow. For the past seven months my students have been using headphones originally designed to be used with 2002 desktop computers, with modern 2018 Chrome Books. The headphones have slowly started to deteriorate. From losing their ear cushions, cords breaking, and the headphone jack not being able to recognize the updated computer; these headphones are in dire need of being replaced.
