Yoga mats will make it easier for the students to remain in their own personal spaces when they practice the yoga poses. Yoga is a great way to provide brain breaks and teach self-regulation skills in daily life. Yoga can help students make connections with standards for math, language arts, social studies, and science. It can improve physical skills such as balance, flexibility and endurance. Repeating sequences can help with memory and task organization. It is my hope that our daily yoga practice will help my students develop strategies to deal with stress.
