Talk, Read, Sing! Reading and exploring books helps promote language development by supporting the brain as it makes connections. Offering my students a variety of books and stories that have musical lyrics, pop-up pages, and different vocabulary words will help meet the needs of each individual and promote interest in literacy. Building this diverse library will encourage my students to make connections between the content they learn and the experiences they have at home and in the community. Once back in the classroom, the library will provide my students with the opportunity to explore books learning how to hold them appropriately and turn the pages. Through distance learning, these books will help build a virtual library where students can listen to stories being read to by staff members. Helping them create a foundational love for reading!
