The special education teachers at our school often have students with ADHD, autism, and social/emotional disabilities. We focus on helping the children develop self-regulation and these materials will help. Since it takes trial and error to determine which materials work best with each child, we hope to create a Sensory Library or Classroom where the materials can be checked out to use with our students with special needs. By giving the students opportunities to self-regulate, the students will be prepared to meet the expectations of the classroom and make academic gains.

About my class
