Reading is always encouraged both inside and outside of my classroom. Choice reading allows my students to choose novels that they feel connected to and further allow them to think critically about issues that affect both themselves and the world around them. Young adult novels reflect struggles that teenagers encounter on a daily basis, while also introducing them to important social issues so they can create their own voice to be heard. With this collection of young adult novels, students will be able to invest in a novel of their choice and think critically about important social issues affecting society today. Daily reading and literature circles will motivate and inspire thoughtful conversations that will foster independent thought while at the same time strengthening reading skills. Please help my students develop their own voices through reading the most current young adult novels.
