All of the books that I have chosen within this project are ones that will be cherished by my students for years to come. My students deserve to see themselves represented in the stories that they read and many of these stories have diverse characters that will help my wide variety of learners continue their love for learning and reading. My students are lifelong learners and these books will help them to continue that journey. This is why I also included books that are related to emotional growth which will help my students both inside and outside of the classroom. One of my goals in my classroom is to build a kind and welcoming community. By sharing these stories with my students, it will help them to build their skills as people and learners. After such a challenging year, my students deserve to have some extra joy added into our classroom and I know that these books will help bring that joy. If you choose to donate to my project, I know that these books will hold a special place in my student's hearts. As a new teacher, I am hoping to build a strong foundation of literature in my classroom from day one so that they know the importance of reading and story telling. I cannot wait to see the joy on my student's faces as they embark on this reading experience and see themselves in these stories. Thank you so much!
