My special education students have difficulty using triple beam balances in their 8th grade chemistry classes. One electronic balance is all I need to help reduce the stress among students when measuring the mass of an object or solution. Also, they will be using electronic balances in high school and as incoming freshmen, need to know how to use the tools of chemistry. Electronic balances have become standard equipment for many middle and high school chemistry departments. They allow the user to quickly and accurately measure the mass of a substance to a level of accuracy impossible for traditional balances to achieve.
