Right now, many of my students are playing on very old, low-quality ukuleles, many of which have broken tuning pegs that won't hold the correct pitch. That makes learning as a class difficult because it sounds so bad. Providing these ukuleles to my classroom will make a difference in my students' learning because every student will be able to learn and play a functioning, quality instrument. Fifth-grade students at my school look forward to learning to play the ukulele and having quality instruments will just sweeten that experience for them.
